Outdoor Play at Higher Blackley
Outdoor play is a natural enhancement and extension of our indoor environment and the children can freely access our two safe and secure outdoor play areas from the play room and we also have access to the local park. Playing outside provides opportunities for children to use all their senses, to experience wonder and enchantment, to work on a larger scale, to develop gross motor skills and to enjoy a greater sense of freedom and independence. We see outdoors as a classroom in itself and will take the children out in all types of weather
The children can engage in activities such as riding the bikes, ball games, sand and water play and many more activities that stimulate the children’s imagination as well as the daily activities the staff have planned. The children also have opportunities to explore the natural environment such as watching the environment change throughout the seasons of the year, growing vegetables in our vegetable patch and observing mini-beasts.
