Tiddlywinks 2nd Nursery in North Manchester is located in Higher Blackley Children’s Centre and is carrying on the tradition of providing high quality, child centred day care for children aged from 4 months up to school age. We opened our second Tiddlywinks Day Nursery on 23rd April in 2007.
The nursery is registered with OFSTED to provide day care for 72 children between the hours of 7:30am and 6:00pm and aims to provide a high quality child care service in a warm, safe and enabling environment with continuous access to our outdoor provision which entices all of our little ones senses.
We run a dedicated sessional care for children who are 2 years old and accessing the 15 hours of funded childcare.
Our Out of School Club (TOOSC) has 24 places and we cater for children aged 3 to 11 years. Our Out of School Club collects children after school from EACT Blackey Academy, a local school. During School Holidays we operate a holiday club providing exciting play opportunitees specifically planned for the varying older age ranges.
We are graded as Ofsted “Outstanding” following our most recent inspection in January 2013.
We have a knowledgeable and highly skilled staff team who provide rich teaching and learning opportunities for all children throughout the day.
The children learn and develop in an inclusive, stimulating, caring environment. Our aim is to support each child on their learning journey during their time at Tiddlywinks.
All children are supported to achieve their full potential at their own pace. Our keycarer system enables us to ensure we have a planned curriculum tailored to meet the needs of the individual children. Developmentally appropriate play opportunities meet each child’s learning style from a highly qualified staff team including a qualified Early Years Teacher.
Our indoor and outdoor environments are designed and planned to be thought provoking, stimulating, challenging, explorative and provide them with time and space to consolidate their learning. The environment takes into account children’s interests and the skills they need to ensure continuous progression.
We are always on hand to speak to parents/carers if they have any worries, concerns or need some advice.
Through the promotion of British Values our enthusiastic staff team will encourage the children’s increasing independence and self image, creating an ethos of equal opportunities and anti discrimination, enabling a safe caring environment for children, their families, staff and visitors.
We endeavour to make each child’s time in our nursery a memorable one. We want them to be happy, confident little learners who take happy memories that stay with them on their life journey.
