Outdoor Play at Crumpsall
There is lovely, secure outdoor area where children have free access to the outdoors which enables children to make choices of playing inside or outside. The baby room has a garden where there is a safety surface area and a grass area where the babies can explore and continuously develop their physical skills. There is a small planting area where the children can plant some seeds and watch them grow. There are a range of resources that are set out for the children that encourage them to develop skills in all areas of learning.
There is a large garden that is accessible from the tweenies and preschool room where the children can mix together. The outdoors is set out to support all areas of provision so that learning can be taken outside as well as inside. There is a planting area and grass area including a grassy hill which the children love running up and rolling down. There are planned activities that are carried out outside each day and many other activities that the children can engage in such as riding the bikes, ball games, sand and water play and many more activities that stimulate the children’s imagination. The children also have opportunities to explore the natural environment such as mini-beasts and watching the environment change throughout the seasons of the year.
We have a mud kitchen outdoors, the children are having lots of fun making mud pies and some lovely dishes to share with their friends. The children’s fine and gross motor skills as well as their imaginary skills are developing rapidly during this activity. Please can we ask for the children to bring in a spare change of clothes.
