Rooms at Clayton
Our baby room is registered to provide care for up to 15 children aged 4months to 2yrs of age. We work within the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, with each baby having their own key carer, who forms a close bond with both the baby and parents ensuring continuity of care between nursery and home. Our dedicated staff have a holistic approach to caring for the babies in our care, following their individual routines and providing them with a stimulating, sensory environment in which their can develop to their full potential. We have an adjoining cosy black and white area which allows our little ones a quiet area to rest or sleep whenever they require a break from all that play.
In the Baby Room we begin to introduce creative activities through sensory exploration which include painting of all different kinds, water play, play-dough, baking and sticking using different materials. The babies have their own garden which they can freely access through a door in the room, this offers the children the freedom to explore, use their senses, and be physically active and exuberant.
Our Tweenie room is designed for children aged 2-3 years and we are registered to care for up to 30 a day. Within our safe and secure environment the children are encouraged to develop and learn at their own pace. Our enthusiastic staff team plan adult focused and child led activities based on the children’s special interests, this motivates the children to make choices, challenge their thinking and encourages independence. The children develop their expressive language, vocabulary their own pace through a language friendly environment.
The children are supported by their keycarer in this room and work closely with parents with regards to toileting, behaviour and play based activities which they can continue at home. This also includes close partnerships in assessing the children’s progress across the seven areas of learning by deciding with the parents when the best time is to carry out a two year development check. This will highlight interests, strengths, styles of learning and any areas that require development.
The outdoor space is continuously accessible from this room and offers the children a chance to move freely and enjoy the natural environment.
Our 26 place Pre-School room caters for children aged 3 years to school age. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum providing a secure, caring, warm and stimulating environment in which children learn through play and discovery, ensuring each day is as exciting and fun packed as the last.
Our preschool staff are committed to meeting all the individual learning needs of your child and will plan activities accordingly, ensuring they can reach their full potential. Computer activities, cooking, planting, singing and making dens are but a few of the daily activities that our pre-school children are a few of the activities through which the children learn, while the sports activities on offer enable the children to challenge themselves physically while having fun.
We are keen to ensure all of our pre-school children get off to a flying start at primary school. We put a strong emphasis on the development of self confidence, development individual personalities and most of all the development of independence, as well as concentration, listening, and early reading & writing skills.
The outdoor space is continuously accessible from this room allowing the children to move freely between the two environments meeting their developmental needs and current interests.
