Rooms at Bury
Our patient, loving and dedicated baby room practitioners are committed to an holistic approach in caring for babies aged from 4months to 2 years. They follow their individual routines and providing them with a stimulating, sensory learning environment in which their can develop and reach their full potential. We work within the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, with each baby having their own key carer, who forms a close bond with both the baby and parents ensuring continuity of care between nursery and home, resulting in babies who feel loved, relaxed and free to explore and learn in a safe and stimulating environment.
Within the room there are several distinct play areas, we have a beautiful black and white area that helps young babies eye sight to develop more effectively, this area also allows our little ones a quiet area to rest or sleep whenever they require a break from all that play. We also have a cosy book area where the children can listen to and join in with stories and singing with their peers or on their own with their key-carer
We have a small physical play area with a climb and slide frame and soft play for the children to develop their mobility and physical skills; whilst our small world and construction area supports the children to develop their imagination gross and fine motor skills.
Our sensory area has been designed to support children’s development through the provision of heuristic, natural and open-ended materials which helps to stimulate their curiosity and engage them in play.
We begin to introduce creative activities through sensory exploration which include painting of all different kinds, water play, play-dough, baking and sticking using different materials allowing the babies a hands on tactile experience using all their senses.
The babies have their own garden, this offers the children the freedom to explore, use their senses, and be physically active and exuberant.
Our Tweenie room is designed for children aged 2-3 years allowing the children free access to all areas and resources. All children of this age are very inquisitive, curious and eager to participate in new and exciting games and activities. There are several areas for the children to access, including a cosy book corner, a creative area that allow the children to develop their artistic and creative skills, sand and water, a construction and small world area that inspires children’s imaginative play and a home corner where children can act out their real life experiences, helping them to make sense of their world. Our music area/sessions provides the children with learning opportunities which will help them develop not only their language development but also their creativity, physical skills and their personal and social development.
Our enthusiastic staff team plan to provide the children with new experiences to support the development of their independence confidence and self-esteem. They provide educational activities promoting a balance between adult focused and child led activities understanding each child’s personal next steps. These activities are based on the child’s interests, this motivates the children to make choices, challenge their thinking and encourages independence.
The children are supported by their key-carer in this room and work closely with parents with regards to toileting, behaviour and play based activities which they can continue at home. This also includes close partnerships in assessing the children’s progress across the seven areas of learning within the EYFS by deciding with the parents when the best time is to carry out a two-year development check. This check will highlight interests, strengths, styles of learning and any areas that require development.

Myself and my husband are very pleased with the care given to my daughter. She has settled in very well and we have seen a huge difference in her since she has joined Tiddlywinks. She is so much happier coming t nursery now and playing with Emma.
