Higher Blackley Childrens Centre - Welcome

Tiddlywinks Day Nursery based within Higher Blackley Children’s centre opened in April 2007 and is the second Tiddlywinks Nursery in North Manchester, and the first of our joint venture with Surestart.

We are a 44 place nursery catering for children aged between four months to five years. We also run a before and after school and holiday club for 24 children aged between three and eleven years.

We employ 100% qualified and experienced staff to ensure high standards are maintained for the care of your children. Parents and Carers are children’s first main educator and it is by building a relationship with our parents that we can work together to ensure each child meets their full potential.

Children have ‘Learning Journeys’, which a child’s keycarer will use to record each milestone a child achieves. By working closely with our parents and by having regular discussions a complete picture is recorded and home and nursery becomes one journey for a child not two separate ones. Staff carefully record observations of each individual child and assess their learning, they will then plan a child’s next steps ensuring they are being challenged to develop new skills. .
